Deejayinks Shelton Hollywood,FL Death,Man Killed, Another Injured in Overnight Hampton Shooting
HAMPTON, Va. — A man was killed and another wounded in a pair of related shootings early Tuesday morning in Hampton, according to police.
Officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of North Armistead Avenue around 12:31 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man inside the home who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified the victim as Deejayinks Shelton, 30, of Hollywood, Florida.


A second shooting victim arrived separately at Sentara Careplex Hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators determined the incidents were connected. A preliminary investigation suggests both men were at the Armistead Avenue residence when the initial shooting occurred. Upon hearing gunshots, the second victim fled outside, where he was also shot. He was able to drive himself to the hospital for treatment.
Police have classified Shelton’s death as a homicide and believe the shootings were an isolated incident. The Hampton Police Division’s Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating.
