Tim Megginson Death, Jacksonville,IL Obituary–Former Jacksonville Correctional Officer and Marine Has Passed Away
The Jacksonville community mourns the loss of Tim Megginson, a man of service and conviction who passed away recently. A former correctional officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections, Tim’s career was defined by a steadfast commitment to duty and public safety.
His character, however, was forged in an even more demanding arena: The United States Marine Corps. Tim carried the title of United States Marine with the pride and discipline it commands, values he undoubtedly brought to his subsequent roles. He also shared his perspectives boldly as a former contributor to “Unleashed Opinioneer,” engaging with the issues of the day.
To those who knew him, Tim was more than his professions. He was a true leader—someone who led by example, whether in uniform, within the prison walls, or in everyday life. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his strength of character.
