According to the Decatur Police Department, officers responded to a residence on North Summit Avenue after a 5:27 p.m. 911 call reported a shooting. They discovered Alexandra with a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to Decatur Memorial Hospital and the efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries. A Decatur man, 25-year-old Christian D. Luthy, who reportedly placed the initial call stating the shooting was accidental, has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter. The investigation is ongoing.
